Discovery
- Discovery
- Engagement
- Analysis & insights
- Quick wins
The first step is to meet with you and your team to understand your business, where its strengths are, its vision for success, its biggest performance and opportunity gaps. It’s also about listening deeper to what motivates everyone and how we can use this to help you succeed.
The next step in this phase is to assess where the business, and the people in it, are at in the journey. This is where we’ll identify what small changes could see immediate improvement and ultimately, what is the key to moving forward.
Strategy
- Strategic plan
- Action plan
After the Discovery phase, we’ll lead you through a strategic vision process. This process is designed and facilitated to respond to the challenges and opportunities that owner operated businesses face. We take the traditional strategic process – where are we now, where do want to be in the future and how will we get there – and break into manageable and achievable components. Our facilitated approach is a blend of head and heart thinking that works equally as well for the action, visual or reflective thinker.
The final output of this phase is a clear set of priorities and action plan presented in a clear and visual format.
Application
- Processes & systems
- Education
- Development
- Review & optimise
The application phase is where we’ll get to work on putting everything we’ve learned thus far into action. This involves things like upgrading skills in the business, learning and implementing new business tools, developing more efficient ways of doing things and expanding your team’s mindset to overcome challenges and seize new opportunities.

OWNER | NEW TOUCH INDUSTRIES
“I have learnt so much and have benefited greatly from our sessions. Looking back at where we were 10 months ago compared to now I am so much happier, less frustrated and really looking forward to 2020 where I believe we will make much more progress. The morale and can do attitude that has crept into NTi recently has been amazing and resulted in us exceeding budget. People keep commenting to me about the change in personalities and willingness to help.”

OWNER | VALUE HEARING
“I have learned so much from Dan. He has the amazing ability to know you better than you know yourself and he knows what you are capable of, even if you do not think you are capable of it. He understands people, and knows what will work well for you, so that you can get to the answers that is needed to move forward. From the simplest to the more complex issues – nothing is too hard. They do not teach you recipes, but they teach you to use your skills, your strengths, your passion to get you through the toughest times and decisions.”

FAQs
WHEN DO I NEED TO ENGAGE A BUSINESS MENTOR?
There is no set time in a business journey to start work with a business mentor. Our clients engage us at different stages, sometimes when they need clarity to take their business to the next level, sometimes when they seem not to be moving forward in the right direction or as fast as they would like.
CAN A BUSINESS MENTOR AND COACH HELP ME DEVELOP MY TEAM?
Yes, a qualified and experienced coach can help you develop your team by working directly with team individuals to build their skills. This takes the pressure off you having to do it all on your own.
CAN A BUSINESS MENTOR AND COACH WORK WITH ME AND MY KEY PEOPLE TO DEVELOP A GROWTH STRATEGY?
Yes, an experienced coach with strong facilitation skills can bring your team together to create a compelling and engaging vision for where you want your business to be in the future.
WILL A BUSINESS MENTOR AND COACH HELP ME WITH MY ACCOUNTING AND LEGAL ISSUES?
No, a coach does not provide professional accounting and legal advice. An experienced coach can work with you to bring more productive relationships with your trusted accounting and legal advisors. A coach can help you understand the difference between accounting and good financial business management. Each of these have their place in the business world.
HOW LONG DOES COACHING TAKE?
Coaching and mentoring is about building a relationship where there is an exchange of value both ways. Sometimes a business will need a short, focused engagement to help them with something specific, whilst other business owners want to build a long-term relationship to support the ongoing growth and development of their business.
